Allow me to introduce myself

The Notes app on my iPhone is my favourite confidant—keeper of secrets, motivational one-liners, random thoughts, and impromptu shopping lists. Going through these notes over the past few weeks, I couldn’t help but laugh. Most of them are strictly confidential (and embarrassing), but there’s some gold in there too—or so I like to think.

Recently, I decided to stop hoarding these drafts and actually do something with them. Why not, right? The time is going to pass anyway.

After two posts, I figured it might be a good time for an introduction.

Since I was young, I’ve always loved writing—poems, short stories, scripts, songs, you name it. Writing has been my safe space, helping me untangle emotions and make sense of the world. The idea of putting those words out there, though? Terrifying.

At 12, platforms like Wattpad and Tumblr were my escape. There was nothing like the fuel Wattpad added to the delusions of teenage boyband fans. Ah, the days of fanfics, Y/N imagine stories, and incredibly graphic tales. I would spend hours immersed in other people's creativity. While I still love that today, it left me both inspired and overwhelmed.

Platforms like Substack or Medium definitely crossed my mind—they’re great, but I wanted something more personal. This space feels quieter, less about algorithms or chasing likes and followers, and more about finally starting something I’ve procrastinated on for far too long. It’s about giving myself the chance to grow and seeing where it takes me. Think of it as my little corner of the internet—a place to experiment, evolve, and create at my own pace, free from noise. That said, if you’re reading this, feel free to drop a comment. It’s a reminder that someone else’s eyes and mind have seen what I’ve put out there—and it helps with that whole growth thing.

Who wants a niche anyway?

I’ve always juggled a number of interests and passions. For the longest time, I wanted to do everything—write a book, learn three languages, and travel to five countries in one day. Choosing just one has often felt like staring at a restaurant menu with too many options, paralysed by the fear of ordering the wrong thing. Don’t get me wrong, I still intend to do all those things and more, but these days, I’m learning to slow down and focus. Right now, that focus is writing.

Some days, the words come easily. Other days, they feel stuck in traffic. But this is my promise to myself: to show up consistently, even when it’s hard.

Let’s talk about the name. From the Drafts is a double entendre. On one hand, it’s literal—these pieces are coming straight from my drafts, but it also plays on the word “drafts,” which represents Dreams Realised through Actions From The Start. It’s a reminder to begin, even if it’s messy and imperfect and to value the small beginnings.

This space reflects some of the things I love: sports, lifestyle/wellbeing, culture, poetry, and occasional existential musings. Who wants a niche anyway? I, for one, have too much of an overactive mind to stick to just one thing. Life is messy, and so is this blog—in the best way.

But more than anything, I hope this becomes a place where you can pause, reflect, and maybe feel inspired. In the future, I’d love to collaborate with others, bringing fresh perspectives and new voices to this space.

So, welcome. Explore, click around, and share your thoughts if you feel like it—I’d love to hear from you.

We watch films, read books, and listen to songs for the stories they tell. So, here’s a glimpse of mine. Here’s to the journey.
